The University of Utah Department of Public Safety is actively investigating a series of burglaries at the University Sunnyside Apartments, Cottonwood 796 and 797.    The burglaries happened beginning June 22 and have continued through this week. A bicycle storage room was broken into and at least three bicycles were taken from the property. No one was injured.

University Police have identified the suspect as 31-year-old Jacob Estes. He is described as an unhoused person, of average height and thin build, with short brown hair and blue eyes. He may be in the company of a male or female accomplice. While the burglaries have been focused at Sunnyside Apartments, all members of the campus community should remain alert and lock office and housing doors.
