2025 Utah Campus Safety Summit
Hosted by the Department of Public Safety

Day 1 – Open to the public. In person and virtual option.
Wednesday, March 19, 2025 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Join campus communities from around the state to explore important topics affecting campus safety for all users. Topics that will be addressed include research into higher education mass shooters, cybercrime, reporting and preventing hate crimes, workplace violence, research into Clery compliance culture and its impact, providing services to those who cause harm, and violence in our healthcare systems.

Day 2 – Registration open only to first responders and supporting agencies.
Thursday, March 20, 2025 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Join campus and municipal first responders from around the state to explore important and relevant topics affecting campus safety for all users. Topics that will be addressed include future policing technologies, lessons learned from Uvalde, why individuals engage in harmful sexual behavior, improving coordination with law enforcement and education administrators, school safety efforts in Utah’s K-12 system and how this can help inform higher education public safety efforts.

Check out the video shown at the inaugural 2023 summit which highlighted the significant changes that have occurred at DPS since the tragic murder of Lauren McCluskey in 2018.
