U of U SAFETY WARNING UPDATE: Assault Suspect in Custody

This is a follow-up to the Safety Warning sent to you and posted on May 1, 2023 regarding an aggravated assault that occurred on April 27 at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

On May 8 at approximately 3 p.m., Uiva Solovi was arrested and booked into jail by the University of Utah Police Department. With the help of the U.S. Marshals Service and federal U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services, Solovi was booked into jail for aggravated assault, a third-degree felony, and threats of violence, a Class B Misdemeanor.

There is no further threat to campus at this time.
