All police officers learn lifesaving techniques like CPR and the Heimlich maneuver. University of Utah Police Officer Viliami Tali never expected to be on the receiving end of this training, but was grateful to his “brother in blue” Katy Texas Patrol Division Lieutenant Steve Cruz when he found himself choking during a vacation in Las Vegas.

For his bravery and quick thinking Lt. Cruz was recently honored.
